A magnificent chateau designed by Francois Mansart around 1670, it is one of the most significant historical chateaux in France. It is both simple and sumptuous with a great octagonal salon in white and blue, an elegant dining room with an original 17th century carved stone buffet, magnificent boiseries, a classic stone entrance hall and grand stone staircase.
The bedrooms have been beautifully renovated, with new bathrooms with limestone, antique mirrors and chandeliers, while a professional gourmet kitchen was re-fitted in 2001. A modern telephone system and cable TV are accessed from each room. There is a spacious chapel with adjacent reception rooms which would be a perfect romantic setting for weddings, and beautiful for conferences, special events and large dinner parties.
The gardens by Le Notre extend behind the chateau, in the central axis is a spectacular fountain that resembles the cascade at Louis XIV’s Chateau Marly. The 200 acre grounds provide privacy, serenity and numerous outdoor activities to enjoy – including 2 rectangular shaped lakes. The chateau is a spectacular location for meetings, conferences and privileged holidays.
