Cortijo Del Marques
Thirty minutes away from Granada, located between olive fields, the Cortijo del Marques is an authentic and charming Rural Hotel. The farmhouse is an exclusive countryside accommodation that keeps the farm’s original flavour of Andalusia past centuries, it includes the Cortijo del Marques church dated 1878. It is a 7 room Rural Hotel, from 40 to 108 m2, each one unique: roc walls, high wooden ceiling, columns, old Arabian oil reservoirs and view to the olive fields.
It is still unknown the precise age of this stately Farmhouse, situated 14 kilometres from the city of Granada, between Sierra del Pozuelo (Pozuelo mountain range) and Sierra Arana (Arana mountain range). However, we know that before the Marquis of Mondejar turned the original property into his farmhouse, it was a convent for nuns.
The restoration works of the current Farmhouse started in the year 2002. Their main aim is to bring to light the most important and ancient architectural elements: columns, Arabian oil reservoirs, fireplaces, mangers… In this way the Marquis Farmhouse was turned into an exclusive countryside accommodation that keeps the farm’s original flavour.
