In 1926, two enterprising gentlemen were on the road from the fishing village of Katwijk to the University City of Leiden near the Hague, when they came across a pretty little house and were so taken by it, they bought it! One of them was a horticulturist trained in England and he set about creating the exquisite garden that, 80 years on, is one of the finest places to dine in Holland. De Beukenhof has had many chapters in it history but none so exciting as the present!
The cuisine is recognised by connoisseurs and much appreciated by those in the know. You can dine in the garden or the conservatory depending on the time of year. Sharing the limelight are the imaginative rooms where you spend a night or two - or more perhaps - the luxury and indulgent amenities are a seduction hard to resist. These qualities have enticed royalty and celebrities worldwide, so your name in the guest book will be in excellent company!
