The Painswick Hotel
The hotel has nineteen luxury bedrooms, all with en suite bathrooms, direct dial telephones, remote control televisions, luxury toiletries, baskets of fresh fruit, mineral water, books and magazines - all one would expect from a top class hotel. The stunning fabrics, soft furnishings, antique furniture, period engravings and objects d'art, all contribute to a sense of wellbeing and the feeling of staying in a well run and beautifully organised private house.
The Dining Room prides itself not only in its elegance, but in this stylish setting a dedicated team of young, award winning chefs create simply delicious and tempting food. Much use is made of locally reared Cotswold meat, wild Severn salmon, game and Vale of Evesham vegetables. All this accompanied by fine and carefully chosen wines, cellared in perfect conditions. One may enjoy short, balanced menus with emphasis on fish, a seawater tank ensures the freshest of shellfish and bi-valves. Quiet meals, weddings, family occasions or extravagant dinners can also be enjoyed in privated dining rooms.
The charming village of Painswick, and indeed the hotel, lend itself to being the perfect location for your wedding day. The house, which was built in 1790 and formerly the home of wealthy rectors, has magnificent architectural features including a wisteria clad balcony, a Catholic Chapel which now houses the Bar and Cotswold stone steps leading to the front door.
The Painswick has two rooms which are licensed for weddings, the Dining Room which can seat a maximum of 100 guests and the Morning Room which can seat a maximum of 35 guests.
Kevin Barron and his team will create a menu especially for your wedding breakfast, completed by our fine wine list which contains over 150 wines from all over the World.

The village of Painswick is a quintessential English Village known as 'The Queen of the Cotswolds'. Honey coloured old merchants houses lie huggermugger with medieval cottages; there are over 100 listed buildings in the village, which is a total conservation area. Every year in July the village comes alive with a Victorian Festival, where the villagers dress in period costume and a traditional street fayre takes place, complete with Morris dancers, acrobats and jugglers.
The village has a number of antique shops, craft shops and galleries. Every August there is an exhibition by the Gloucestershire Guild of Craftsmen where all sorts of traditional crafts are available.

A pleasant stroll from the hotel is Painswick Rococo Gardens, a unique 18th century garden situated in a hidden Cotswold valley. The gardens, which have only recently been restored, offer a true insight into the flamboyant yet brief period of English garden design.
