This spectacular and unique Villa is located approximately 7 minutes' walk from the main piazza in Capri Town. From its prestigious and central location, the property is an oasis of calm, even in the height of the summer months, and its large grounds and many trees ensure peace and constant shade. Inside the villa the living areas have high ceilings and are beautifully furnished with antiques. The rooms open via French doors to wide, shaded marble terraces with column surround, and seating and dining areas, used as an extension of the living space during the summer months. The bedrooms are very spacious and all open to terraces. There is also central heating for winter lets.
The enormous grounds wind around a hill, via an old Roman chariot path, with magnificent views over the whole island, the sea and the Bay of Naples. There are the remains of a Roman villa and an 18th Century French garrison at the top. The hill is partly wooded and partly devoted to the cultivation of lemons and oranges. Closer to the house, the grounds have been designed as a formal Italian garden with lawned areas, statues and trees. The beautiful swimming pool is near the house and reached via an arched walkway of lemon trees.
There are no private cars in Capri, and the piazza can be reached either by taxi or by funicular railway. From the piazza, there are porters available to help take baggage to the villa. There are many excellent restaurants within a short walk, and the delightful resident couple who look after the house and grounds can also advise on boat hire and other activities on the island.
