Villa Edera - Holiday Home Appartment
The strategic position of this Tuscany Villa located in Maremma gives the visitor the opportunity to go for a one day trip to the cities of Art of Rome, Florence and Siena. There is a swimming pool (5,5 m x 14 m) equipped with beach umbrellas, gazebos, lawn swings and small beds.
The Villa is 1 km from Manciano (museum, historic center, the Aldobrandesco Castle, tennis court, several shops), 13 km from the popular thermal baths of Saturnia, 18 km from the Etruscan areas of Sovana and Pitigliano, 20 km from the Etruscan necropolis of Vulci (Etruscan museum), 30 km from the Silver Coast (S.Stefano port, Ercole port, Cala Galera, Talamone) and from the lake of Bolsena, 65 km from Orvieto and 150 km from Fiumicino Airport (Rome).
MANCIANO: very enchanting, Manciano offers to the visitor several amenities. This territory is reputed to be the most beautiful and evocative area in Maremma: at a first glance you can sweep all the area between the Amiata mountain and the valley of Fiora river, from Talamone to the beaches of Montalto di Castro, from the Argentario to the Giglio and Montecristo Islands. The whole territory can be traveled by foot, riding, and by mountain bike, thanks to a large number of country roads and lanes.
TUSCANY: this beautiful Italian region, situated between the mountains and the sea, has several faces, colors, perfumes, flavors. The extraordinary variety of the landscape, the traditions, the great artistic and cultural patrimony of this area makes the Tuscany the symbol of Italy.Tuscany means mountain, thanks to the big peaks of the Apuane Alps and the peaks of the Appennino, uncontaminated nature, with his national parks, country-side with his green and sweet hills, sea, with his white beaches, culture and art.
MAREMMA: Maremma has a reserved character. It is intriguing and shows clear and bright faces. This land has some secret and mysterious aspects. It takes your breath away. You can discover its magic by indulging in it, following its routes towards the sea, the beaches, the gentle hills, the countryside, the small medieval villages and the woods of its mountains. Maremma has special corners, you will find them, you will feel them. It is enough to indulge … on a rock listening to the rhythm of the waves, watching the ever-new sight of the sunset; waiting for the light of the dawn; watching the vivid colours of the nature among the ruins of ancient civilizations, in the dens of the castle , on the ramparts of the old town walls or inside the churches. Here you have the feeling of the times past. Men have protected this land by developing an agriculture which is always respectful of the environment and tradition. Maremma is still a well preserved place. Its beauty, its special landscapes, the quality of its products and services, the reclamation and revaluation of a past rich in history did the rest.
NATURE IS THE STARTING POINT: In Maremma you can admire the wild island of Montecristo, the lightness of herons which roam free in the countryside or on the hills along the river Ombrone up to the plain and from there to the sea. Or you can enjoy the singing birds which live in the pinewoods, the small lakes, the bushes, the beech woods. Maremma wears the red of the sunsets, the yellow of brooms and sunflowers, the deep blue of the starry night, the green of sown fields, the clear blue of the sea or the warm colours of the autumnal woods.
SATURNIA'S THERMAL BATHS: Do not leave out the Saturnia’s baths and the evocative Mulino del Gorello falls, with a 37° C water temperature, suitable for all the dermatological diseases, for the respiratory organs, the osteoarticular system, for the female genital and urinary diseases, the obesity and the circulatory disorders.
THE ETRUSCANS : The old area of Etruria is situated in the middle of Italy. It is surrounded by the Appennini Tosco-emiliani mountains in the North, by the Tevere river in the South, it extends until the Roma town area. This old towns were well-known in all the Mediterranean region, and today they talk to us through the ancient sites of his all citizen. This itinerary, develops in the South coast of the Etruria, and it extends through the big towns of Cere (The actual Cerveteri), Tarquinia and Vulci.

1) = A Villa Edera, nous avons passés des vacances sensationnelles. C'est une maison pleines de charmes avec des installations modernes. Jones (le propriétaire) a décoré les différents appartements avec beaucoup de goût et on se sent tout de suite "à la maison". La propriété est à peine à 2 km du centre de Manciano (adorable petit village typiquement italien) mais on se sent tout de même au vert dans le grand parc entourant la villa. Nos deux enfants ont pu gambader en toute liberté (le parc est fermé), profiter de la piscine (il fait encore très beau fin septembre).
Jones est un hôte charmant qui se met entièrement à la disposition de ses "invités". Il nous a donné pleins de conseils, fait des itinéraires pour visiter une région méconnues (la Maremma) mais qui vaut certainement la Toscane de Florence et Sienne.
Jones, c'est sûr, nous reviendrons passer des vacances chez toi !

Thank you for a wonderful time in Manciano. We loved your villa and reading by the pool. Manciano has everything one needs; the herald tribune, an internet cafe, restaurants, food stores and a good tourist office.
The maremma was a wonderful place in which to vacation. There are so many lovely and historical towns to see. We also loved going to the baths at Saturnia and visiting lake Bolsena and the ocean at Argentario. The maremma has it all.
We look forward to seeing you again next year.
