Villa Olmi Resort is a luxury resort Florence hotel set in an 18th-century villa on a six-hectare estate, and is one of the most beautiful properties at the gates of Florence. Along with the centuries-old park and splendid Italian gardens, Villa Olmi has a unique history dating back to the 15th century. For centuries it was the country home of some of the most important families and a vital centre of trade and culture between the city and country. Over the centuries it was modified and enlarged to become the Florence hotel it is today. Villa Olmi Resort is truly unique and offers unequalled privacy. The resort has recently been restored to its original, sophisticated beauty under the watchful eye of the Government Service for Monuments (Soprintendenza ai Monumenti di Firenze), and then converted into a hotel, while maintaining the atmosphere of an 18th-century stately home.
The hotel's three main buildings, the Villa, the Fattoria and the Colonica are now elegant hotel facilities. The 12 suites in the Villa, ranging from 60 to 120-square metres are among the finest examples of rural-patrician architecture, with fine marble decorations and frescoes. The Fattoria offers 38 rooms, from fully equipped mini-suites to rooms with private gardens. Each room is furnished with handpicked antiques and faithfully reflects the original style. The Colonica has four suites, designed for privacy, in a tiny "hamlet" that was restored with skill and taste.
The oven, well and loggia are all original and they have been brought back to new life to please our guests. A swimming pool in the cloister of the main building overlooks the garden and is the focal point for "relaxing in the Villa", or as we say in Italian "dolce far niente".
Villa Olmi Resort is located along the road that linked Florence to that area of the countryside where they produced (and still produce, even today) the finest fruits and vegetables in the area. At the gates of Florence, in a six-hectare oasis of peaceful greenery, just a stone's throw away from the Firenze Sud motorway junction and only eight-minutes drive from Piazza Duomo in Florence city centre. This location gives the guests of Villa Olmi Resort several options for an interesting, relaxing vacation, whether it be taking advantage of the activities on the estate, or exploring the surrounding area.
